We want to say a big “thank you!” to all of you who came out to our launch party Tuesday night. We had a great time meeting fellow Kansas City moms and several local bloggers, as well. We have some real talent (on many levels) in this city! It was such a joy to celebrate the launch of our new blog with all of you.

First, we want to introduce you to the charming and adorable Pamela of Lauren Alexandra Bebe Boutique.  Ya’ll, this girl is amazing. She welcomed us into her store like we were family. Her team of girls created the perfect atmosphere for a par-tay. If you have not visited this cute shop, then you need to grab your best friend, your mom or your mother-in-law and head on over! The things you can buy in this shop are so much fun. For those of you with teething babies, I’m sure you’ve heard of Chew Beads. Guess what? Lauren Alexandra is pretty much the only place in KC to buy them! They also have a great selection of necklaces and bracelets. Head on over to their Facebook page so you can keep updated on all of their specials and fun sale events.

Did we mention there were giveaways? Pam gave away some super-cute necklaces that were won by two best friends! (How fun is that?) We also gave away one free ticket to our Moms Night Out event on October 6!

Can you handle all of the cuteness?

One thing that we are passionate about at Kansas City Moms Blog is connecting KC moms with one another at events. This launch party was the first of many events to come; in fact, Pam will be hosting us at her Brookside location beginning this fall for Kansas City Moms Blog Story Times! That’s right, ladies – we are going to start seeing more of each other and we hope you will haul your kiddos to Brookside this fall for a fun morning of books and mommy chat time. More details to follow!

We can’t forget to mention the talent behind all of these beautiful photos. Thank you to Eran and Aubs Photography and Cinematography for their continued support of Kansas City Moms Blog, and for taking such amazing photos of our evening! You moms will want to check out their Facebook page, too, so you can check out some of their great family videos. (Our personal favorite family video can be found here.) Fair warning, you will want to book them the second you watch these videos. Trust me.

And one last “thank you” from Tonya and I – thank you for your support of our new blog. Thank you for sharing those blog posts with family and friends on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you for sharing your own insights on (among other things) education in KC, ways to keep sane during the back to school insanity, and reasons why raising kids in KC is the best. We cannot wait to meet you at our first-ever Moms Night Out event on Sunday October 6 at La Bodega in Leawood. Thanks for making KC great!

Julie
Hello! Kansas City has been our home for the past 3 years and we love it. We moved here after a 2 year stint in Madrid, Spain working for a Christian non-profit. Although I will always have a bad case of wanderlust, I’m a Midwest girl through and through. Educated at Iowa State University as a Spanish teacher, I taught K-6th grade students the joy of learning another language for 2 years. In 2007 I left the world of teaching and became a full time Mama to our first child Renae. Her little brothers Sammy and Colton arrived 2 and 4 years later and between the 3 of them, they keep me busy. I also work for the Skybridge Community which assists American expats as they adjust to and prepare for life in another country. I find great joy in connecting people together, meeting new people, and learning about those that are different from me. Most days you’ll find me spending my mornings at the YMCA where I like to get my Zumba groove on and ending each day watching House Hunters International. I’m looking forward to connecting with all of you great KC Moms!
