Little Pnuts: a review and {GIVEAWAY!}

Little Pnuts: a Review and {Giveaway!}(Note: Kansas City Moms Blog received product in exchange for this review; however, all opinions shared are those of the contributor who wrote them.)

How do you choose gifts for kids who (seemingly) have everything? How do you find balance between a toy’s educational and entertainment value?

The mission behind Little Pnuts is one which appeals to moms in a similar gift-giving quandry: to “get children back into imagination, creativity and play … to get up off the couch, step from behind a computer, turn off the television and find accomplishment in playtime.” Even more meaningful to me as a mom, however, is the story behind how Little Pnuts got its start. Mompreneur Melissa Pia Bossola Beese, founder of Little Pnuts, realized with the birth of her first child a need for high-quality, all-natural, non-battery operated toys. With a son born at 24 weeks and weighing only 24 ounces, Melissa was given a list of everything that could possibly go wrong with her son – and after being told that he would never be “normal,” Melissa set out to overcome any challenge he might face.

Enter the Little Pnuts subscription box. Admittedly, the very idea of a subscription box – items curated by a panel of experts and sent directly to your kids at home – was VERY appealing to Me-Who-Hates-Shopping. I love giving gifts that will help my kids learn and grow (while having fun, too!), but having to sort through the good and the bad can sometimes be a daunting task. Thankfully, Little Pnuts takes the guesswork out of shopping for our kids!

In September, my youngest son, Tiras, was excited to receive a Little Pnuts delivery of his very own. (In typical little sibling fashion, he may have overstated his excitement to his older brother which may have led to an altercation over said delivery … but that’s a topic for another post.) Each Little Pnuts shipment is tailored toward the age(s) you decide, so each child in your family can receive a box guaranteed to meet their attention span and developmental needs.

the Magnetibook Alphabet

Once inside the box, I was pleased with the information provided regarding developmental milestones for my little guy as well as with the range of different activities (four, in this box) for him to enjoy. All but one of the activities were games designed to be played with one or more other people, making for some great family moments for weeks and months to come. The boys’ favorite activity in this shipment has been the Magnetibook Alphabet (pictured) – perfect for any young reader in your family!

Finally, the ease of ordering a Little Pnuts delivery can’t be beat! Just select the program you’d like to follow (Infant 0-12 months, Toddler 1-3 years, or Preschool 3-6 years), provide a bit of information about your “Special Little Pnut,” select your payment option and that’s it!
