It might not feel like summer yet, but the summer planning has begun! Registrations are open for summer camps and activities and filling up fast! Check out some of our favorite camps for kids of all ages and interests. Not only do they continue learning but you get a little, well-deserved break!

YMCA of Greater Kansas City

Kids can have the best summer ever at YMCA of Greater Kansas City Summer Day Camps! The focus is on achievement, relationships and belonging. A wide variety of experiences include fields trips, swimming, arts, STEM, outdoor education and more. Locations throughout the metro. Opportunities for ages 5-12 include traditional camps with exciting weekly themes, and sports specialty camps. Youth Volunteer Corps Summer of Service is available for ages 11-18. Kansas City Young Audiences

Kansas City Young Audiences offers full and half-day performing and visual arts camps for children ages 4 and up. Each week features new camps and an end of camp sharing for friends and family. Choose from fun offerings like Build A Toy Camp, Improv Adventure Camp, Musical Theatre Camp, Main Street Beats, KCYA Has Talent, Random Acts of Art and more.  Payment plans, scholarships and multi-child discounts are available. 

Taste Buds Kitchen

Take a break from the heat and come chill in our Kitchen! Taste Buds Kitchen presents action-filled weekly cooking classes that are lip-smacking-finger-licking good. We’ve gathered all the foods that you love and have a place set at our table just for you.  We will explore different flavors and learn new culinary techniques each week. Grab a friend and let’s get cooking!

Christian Youth Theater

Join us for a summer filled with magic, time travel, Broadway, and more! CYT Kansas City offers half-day camps for ages 5-7, full-day camps for ages 7-12, behind the scenes extensive ‘Xtreme’ camps for ages 10-16, as well as middle school and high school overnight camps, and our new high school drama camp! We offer camps all over the metro including Overland Park, Lee’s Summit, Gladstone, Lenexa, and more! CYT camps are a great way for your child to reach outside their comfort zone, challenge themselves to try new things, and sing and dance alongside some of their favorite Disney and Dreamworks characters, all while making lasting friendships along the way.

Starlight Theatre Camps

At Starlight Theatre’s summer camps, young artists in kindergarten through grade 8 have options to build skills in acting, singing and dance; create sets, props and costumes; and perform for family and friends. Theatre professionals lead Starlight campers on journeys that uncover hidden talents and feed their passion for performance. Act Like An Animal Camp (in partnership with the KC Zoo) is for grades K-4 and meets July 9-20 or August 6-10. Camp Take-a-Bow is for grades 5-8 and meets June 18-29. Midwestern Music Camp

Since 1936, the Midwestern Music Camp has brought young musicians to the University of Kansas to study and play with our outstanding faculty and world-renowned guest musicians. More than 65,000 students from across the United States and other nations have come together each summer to learn and perform together on one of the nation’s most beautiful campuses. Many of them are now performing in major symphony orchestras, service bands and choirs, while others teach at great schools and universities around the world. PlayWell Teknologies

Play-Well Teknologies offers LEGO® Engineering, and Robotics based STEM camps. Programs are offered for kids as young as 5 and as old as 13. Kids dive into these classes and exercise their ability to build. They come away with an understanding of the fundamentals of engineering and physics. The experience boosts their confidence, creativity and ability to collaborate. Kids can’t get enough!

Heartland Therapeutic Riding

Hearts & Hooves Camp is an inclusionary camp for kids with and without disabilities!  It’s a fun-filled week of everything horses! Camp includes daily riding lessons and a Horse Show on the final day for campers to show off what they’ve learned! Location: 199th & 69 Hwy in Johnson County.

Camp Encourage

Camp Encourage builds social growth, independence, and self-esteem in youth with autism spectrum disorder (ages 8-18) through quality, overnight camps located in the greater Kansas City area. Each camp incorporates integration with same-aged peers and includes both traditional camp activities and activities tailored around the individual campers’ abilities and interests. 

Echo Music

Echo Music Studio classes bring children and families together through
folk songs, rhymes, movement and expression, bonding and general
instruments exploration for ages 0-PreK. Through the practice of our
activities, children are given the opportunity to love music for a

Code Ninja

Code Ninjas summer camps offer an immersive environment for children to explore technology and develop new skills with Roblox, Minecraft, JavaScript, drones and more!  We offer week long, full-day camps from 8:30-3:30, for ages 7-14. Kansas City Ballet School

Kansas City Ballet School’s 2018 Summer Programs include 1x per week ballet classes or 4-day ballet camps for children ages 2-7. Camp themes include Little Mermaid, Fairy Princess, or Super Hero. Wee Create Studio is a neighborhood art space for kids and their families. Our children’s art classes focus on process-based art exploration and learning. The Wee Create Studio way for kids to develop artistically encourages children to experiment and create art in their own way.

J Camp

Summer Day Camp for Children with ADHD

The Children’s Mercy Summer Treatment Program (STP) offers an award-winning evidence-based therapeutic program. Children learn to manage behavioral, emotional, social, and learning issues while participating in fun recreational activities. We cannot serve children with Autism or who exhibit destructive or aggressive behaviors. Dates: M-F from June 11-July 27. Cost: $4,000.
