The Best Summer Ever is at Y Day Camps

This post is written and sponsored by the YMCA of Greater Kansas City.

Summer day camp at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City provides kids with adventures, healthy fun, personal growth and friendships that can take a so-so summer and turn it into a memory that lasts a lifetime. And one of the best things about camp at the Y is that it is always a welcoming environment for kids where they belong and discover their potential.

The focus of the Y camps in Kansas City is on achievement, relationships and belonging. A wide variety of camp experiences include new field trips, swimming, art, STEM, outdoor activities, education and so much more.

Camps are available throughout the metro. Choose the location convenient for your family. Come for a week, or stay for the whole summer.

Locations include:

  • Kansas School Districts – Blue Valley, Olathe, Piper and Shawnee Mission
  • Missouri School District – Platte County R-3
  • Centers – North Kansas City YMCA and Riverside Community Center

The different types of day camps available are:

Youth Day Camp

Time: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Youth day camps at the Y focus on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all of our activities, from educational camper-chosen skill activities to swimming, field trips and everything in between. Each week features a unique theme with fun-filled activities that allow for physical movement, social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth and creativity. Campers are divided into small groups by age with activities appropriate to the interests and needs of each group.

Sports Day Camp
Ages: 5-12
Days: Monday to Friday

This year, sports camps are focused on keeping kids active and engaged in fun physical activities, with an emphasis on soccer and basketball. In addition to skill development and gameplay, campers will engage in scientific learning focused on physical needs of the body and enjoy special guests.
