Whether it’s a Broadway show like The Little Mermaid, a puppet show or kid-friendly concerts, these shows offer something unique to your summer schedule.

Kids Summer Programs – Ironwoods Park

Free performances at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday in June at either Ironwoods Amphitheater or the Lodge at Ironwoods Park (depending on the weather).

Performers include: Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove (6/6), Funky Mama (6/13), StoneLion Puppet Show (6/20), Wings of Love Bird Show (6/27)

June 13-August 6 at the Coterie at Crown Center

The Great Fourth of July Race of the Hare & the Tortoise

June 20-July 8 on the H&R Block City Stage at Union Station

The Wizard of Oz by Mesner Puppet Theater

June 20-July 9, Musical Theater Heritage at Crown Center, 3rd floor

Theatre in the Park – Shawnee Mission Park

Bring your blankets or lawn chairs (designated sections); outside food is permitted. Tickets are $8, $6 for kids 4-10; ages 3 and under free. Performances begin at 8:30 p.m. Twenty percent off tickets are available on Thrifty Thursdays.

Our favorite kid-friendly shows: Camp Rock (6/30- 7/8), Beauty and the Beast (7/28–8/5)

Theatre in the Park – Gladstone

Bring your blankets or lawn chairs (designated sections) for the 30th year of Theatre in the Park. Shows begin at 8:30 p.m.

Featured performances: Willy Wonka (7/7-7/9) and  The Wizard of Oz (8/4-8/6)
