Moms Night Out at La Bodega {RECAP}

Sunday evening, one hundred Kansas City moms descended upon La Bodega in Leawood. From the get-go, it was one happening party …

We were so thankful to have Allison Corrin Photography on hand to capture the evening. Allison is a south KC mom of three and spends her days as a newborn and lifestyle photographer in-between her duties as a mama. Along with her website, you can connect with her on Facebook to keep up with her beautiful photography.

After our moms checked in, they moved back to our giveaway tables to see what they could win that evening. We had nine different giveaways from local businesses! Of course, our biggest giveaway of the night was from The Elms Hotel and Spa. They made one lucky mom VERY happy as Toshia W. walked away with a free night’s stay in one of their suites AND $200 in spa and hotel credit!

Parlor, The Bar Method, The Elms and Sophisticated Spirit were just some of the giveaways we featured!

The fun didn’t stop after the moms placed their ticket into the giveaway jar. Next up: swag bags!

Madewell is a great store just down the road from La Bodega! If you missed out on shopping there last Sunday, they are having another special shopping experience at their store tomorrow afternoon from 2-5 pm. This will be your first chance to see their new fall merchandise, get some free styling tips, and browse through the shop while enjoying fall-inspired sips and sweets! Sounds fun!

One of the highlights of the evening was having Dr. Amy of Burleson Orthodontics on hand. What a sweet woman! Dr. Amy was such a trooper as she answered questions for moms, posed for pictures, and participated in our “human bingo” game. As a mom of three boys, I think she enjoyed the night as much as the rest of the group. I love that she brought along two of her assistants who are moms, as well! I think KC kids are in great hands with Dr. Amy and Burleson Orthodontics!

One of my favorite parts of the evening was meeting our readers in person. Some women came with friends, while some came by themselves and made friends that night! It was a joy to meet a mom and say, “oh, you’re so-and-so from Instagram!” 😉 When we started this blog, we did so with the idea of wanting to connect moms both online and off; how thrilling it was to see this actually happen!

Some of our moms had fun doing a little shopping! Avon, Stella and Dot and It Works! were all available throughout the evening with beautiful tables showcasing their wares.

If you saw a lot of social media mentions on Sunday night, this card is what got moms doing it!

Eventually, we started giving away the prizes. I must say – watching the winners’ faces light up when their names were called may have been my favorite part of the entire evening. We had some great giveaways!

We could not have made this night the success that it was without our awesome contributor team. They were so great to help us with check-in, swag bags, and so much more! Thank you, girls. You know we couldn’t have done this without you!

Julie
Hello! Kansas City has been our home for the past 3 years and we love it. We moved here after a 2 year stint in Madrid, Spain working for a Christian non-profit. Although I will always have a bad case of wanderlust, I’m a Midwest girl through and through. Educated at Iowa State University as a Spanish teacher, I taught K-6th grade students the joy of learning another language for 2 years. In 2007 I left the world of teaching and became a full time Mama to our first child Renae. Her little brothers Sammy and Colton arrived 2 and 4 years later and between the 3 of them, they keep me busy. I also work for the Skybridge Community which assists American expats as they adjust to and prepare for life in another country. I find great joy in connecting people together, meeting new people, and learning about those that are different from me. Most days you’ll find me spending my mornings at the YMCA where I like to get my Zumba groove on and ending each day watching House Hunters International. I’m looking forward to connecting with all of you great KC Moms!
