My daughter, Sarah, has fought for and with her children from day one. Sarah found out she was pregnant with triplets at eight weeks, and at 27 weeks, she had some complications and was put on bed rest for two more weeks until she had to have an emergency c-section due to a placental abruption.

Her triplets, two identical girls and a boy weighed 3 lbs 1 oz (both girls) and 2 lbs 15 oz. Sarah had to receive two blood transfusions due to blood loss and couldn’t even see her babies until the next day. Both of her girls suffered a lack of oxygen and as a result have brain damage. Anna, the oldest triplet, has cerebral palsy and global developmental delay. Ayva, the middle triplet, has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and global developmental delay. Justin, the youngest of the trio, is right on track and is doing well in kindergarten! Sarah also has another daughter, Camryn, who is allergic to red dyes and has severe eczema.

After all that, she still manages to make each and every one of her children’s lives happy each and every day. She fights for their schooling, their therapies and makes sure everyone is taken care of every single day. She has no days off and no off hours. She works 24/7 and doesn’t ever complain. She is amazing in all that she does and sacrifices every day to make her children’s lives better in some way or another – whether it is making sure they get the proper doctor visits or therapies, to making sure they have all been properly snuggled and and paid attention to.

Sarah goes above and beyond what any mother could do, and I am so proud of her.
